Classes

Whether you are a complete beginner, have 2 left feet, are intermediate or advanced, Ali’s extensive tango and movement knowledge and amiable approach will help you on the right track to achieving your tango dream.

  • Please wear smooth soled, flexible shoes (NOT trainers) and clothes that do not restrict your leg movement.
  • Followers – for the first part of the class best to wear flat soled shoes. Heels may be worn for the second part of the class.
  • Come along with a positive attitude and put your best foot forward!

Ali teaches an Open Level Partner Class in two locations – Altrincham (Mondays) and Chester (Thursdays) from 8pm – 10pm

For all dancers who have some understanding of key tango movements.

Mondays in Hale Barns, Altrincham

Venue: All Saints Church Hall, Hale Road, Hale Barns, Altrincham WA15 8SS

The church hall is behind All Saints Church, which can be seen from Hale Road. Take the track to the side of the church (on the right hand side if looking straight at church from opposite side of the road) and follow the track round to the hall. There is some parking next to the hall and also plenty of parking in the adjacent public car park behind Booths.

Thursdays in Eccleston, Chester

Venue: Eccleston Village Hall, Church Road, Eccleston, Chester CH4 9HT

The village hall is accessible from the A483 or Chester city centre (approx. 2 miles away) Car park and safe parking on the road.

What to expect 😊

The first half hour includes a short warm-up followed by working individually on essential techniques – balance, alignment, position, presence, musicality.

Very valuable for achieving fluid, comfortable movement in your partner dancing.

You will then learn and work with your partner on thematic elements, that can ‘stand alone’ or be put together in a sequence.

Practice makes perfect – time to confirm what has just been learned and work on improving and increasing movement vocabulary you have in your repertoire.

But don’t worry if you feel you don’t know much – it ain’t what you know it’s the way that you do it!
